PERSONAL
DEVELOPMENT

As a Chetwood Wealth Management trainee financial advisor, you will benefit from a mentor dedicated to your personal development, an excellent training regime and be an integral part of the growth of the firm.

With the intimacy and dynamic approach of a smaller business yet the size and opportunities of a much larger business, this is the perfect time to be a part of the Chetwood Wealth Management journey.

What will I be doing?

This role will sit within our team in Wellington, but the candidate will be expected to be willing to travel to our other UK locations as and when required and to work across the financial planning businesses in the group. Currently these office locations are Wellington, Newton Abbot, Bristol, Cirencester and London.

The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to experience a rotation around the different advice businesses in the group, so that they gain a full understanding of the different aspects of the wider operations and be in a strong position to develop the foundations of their future career.

They will support Financial Planners, and ultimately clients, in the advice giving process. This will also include working on operational processes and procedures, creation of suitability reports, product research and technical analysis.

Finally, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to attain qualifications and progress towards becoming a fully qualified Financial Planner.

Our programme is a  five-year scheme (split into two stages) from which you will emerge a Chartered Financial Planner ready to lead client relationships and provide holistic financial planning.  Stage one of the scheme will see you emerge as a level 4 qualified financial advisor (holding the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning). Stage two of the scheme will see you develop from a qualified financial planner to a Chartered Financial Planner.

We support your development by paying for exam entry and revision material as well as providing a generous bonus scheme for exam passes. Your side of this agreement will be to work and study hard to navigate the exams and professional qualifications, this will inevitably require some weekend and evening study. We grant one day of study leave a month (and additional support in the lead up to your exams) and you will find your work colleagues, some of whom themselves will be studying, will be more than supportive.

We believe exams are only a small part of the journey to becoming a Financial Planner, so from an early stage we aim to involve our trainee financial advisors in client meetings, organise for you to attend professional events and benefit from outside training.
